Meet Scott DePaolo
Scott has worked in the horse industry in a variety of roles since 1982. He has managed and operated Butte Creek Scout Ranch for the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years. Butte Creek is a working ranch that specializes in western trail rides and extended pack trips for all ages both for the Boy Scouts of America and their families.
Scott has a deep belief in the positive effects of experiential learning and that horses can be used to build character and teach positive personality characteristics. He believes that horses make the teaching of many key personal character traits much more natural and that good horsemanship leads to good "humanmanship" (A word from Scott's personal dictionary).
Scott DePaolo is a certified clinician of CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association). He is also certified as a pack and trail clinic instructor, Western and English instructor, EFM instructor, CHA site certifier, and is a Certified Equine Specialist with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. Since the early 2000's, Scott has worked on an equine assisted psychotherapy team using horses to help heal troubled youth and recovering adults.
His hobbies include training bridle horses, competing in ranch roping, reining, and working cow horse events as well as traveling to both teach and participate in ranch horsemanship and roping clinics.
